CAFAM-Chinese and American Friendship Association of Maine, Sponsors of Chinese School for Children. CAFAM was formed in 1988 to promote friendship between non-Chinese Americans and Chinese people everywhere. It promotes awareness of and appreciation for Chinese culture through activities which include Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year celebrations, potluck dinners, children's school, adult Chinese conversation classes, public lecture series, translation services, support for Chinese students in Maine, and cooperation with the Portland Chinese community.

The Bangor Chinese School, Bangor, Maine offers language studies for adults and students. This school also has a Chinese Dragon camp program for children in the summer.
