Get Involved with MeFCA
MeFCA is a member-run organization and volunteers are always needed. Opportunities include assisting with events, helping with publicity, serving on a committee, or even joining the Board of Directors.
Board:
Our board is made up of member parents who help determine MeFCA's priorities and plans. Board members may use their talents in many areas. Your energy and creativity are welcome! Please email us with any questions about getting involved on the board.
Activities Committee:
Organizes social events and other activities for our membership. Prior events included a spring culture fair, a citizenship ceremony for new children, the Falling Leaves Festival in autumn, family day at the Portland Sea Dogs and a summer picnic.
Education Committee:
Creates and organizes educational events such as waiting family meetings, lifebook workshops, and panel presentations on culture and adoption.
Outreach Committee:
Publicizes MeFCA's activities and programs to agencies, the media and the public; helps get the word about MeFCA out to new members.
